Job Summary
Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for designing and modeling new parts or refining existing designs based on performance objectives, contributing ideas to UAV system development, validating designs via additive manufacturing, managing supplier relationships and coordinating component procurement, taking full project ownership from concept to production, and driving design-process improvements. Requires a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with several years of experience, strong CAD skills with tolerancing, hands-on UAV experience (fixed-wing and rotary-wing), familiarity with additive manufacturing, and proactive problem-solving with strong communication. Located in Munich, Germany, with a hybrid-leaning office environment and emphasis on collaboration across manufacturing and engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- Several years of relevant work experience
- Strong proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design)
- Solid understanding of mechanical principles for designing structural components
- Hands-on experience with UAVs (fixed-wing and rotary-wing)
- Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of tolerancing
- Proactive problem solving and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Proficiency in English; German knowledge beneficial
