Job Summary
Mechanical Design Engineer at Martin-Baker Denham site. Design and develop aerospace safety-critical mechanical solutions, create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings, support full lifecycle from concept to production and service, perform engineering calculations and tolerance analysis, collaborate with Manufacturing, Stress, Test and Production teams to meet performance, quality, and cost targets, participate in design reviews, support prototype builds and validation activities, investigate design issues and implement corrective actions, and produce technical documentation in line with regulatory requirements. Requires a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, hands-on mechanical design experience, proficiency with 3D CAD (Siemens NX or similar), strong materials/manufacturing knowledge, ability to produce engineering drawings, and excellent communication and teamwork skills. Desirable exposure to aerospace/defence/automotive or PLM systems; willingness to obtain BPSS clearance and ITAR eligibility. UK right to work required.
Required Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience in mechanical design within an engineering environment
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software
- Understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Ability to interpret and produce engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
