Job Summary
The Mechanical Design Engineer will design, build, and test electro-optical-mechanical products such as laser-based systems and night vision devices. Responsibilities include supporting the design of mechanical parts, conducting stress analysis, and ensuring compliance with specifications. The role requires experience in product design, manufacturing processes, CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred), and adherence to MIL-STD documents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 1 to 5 years related experience
- Strong communication skills
- CAD modeling design skills and CAD drafting skills required
- SolidWorks preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Opto-electronic mechanical design
- Experience with injection molded, stamped and die cast parts
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing methods such as ultrasonic welding and semi-automated tooling
- Experienced in New Product Introduction methodology
- Experienced in Design for Manufacture and assembly methodology
- Experience in launching products in a structured environment as a team member or leader
