Job Summary
Design various automated equipment and material handling systems using 3D Solid modeling software, including SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD. Develop machine layouts, detail and check drawings, and apply GD&T tolerance specifications. Collaborate with Sales and Estimating to create concept designs and plant layout drawings for RFQ proposals. Analyze equipment designs to provide creative problem-solving solutions for manufacturing processes while managing project deadlines, costs, and customer commitments.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in designing special custom machinery and automated material handling systems
- utilizing 3D Solid modeling software - i.e., SOLIDWORKS
- proficient in detailing & checking drawings
- developing machine layouts
- skills in blueprint reading
- GD&T tolerance specifications
- general knowledge in designs using Electro-Mechanical Components
- general knowledge in designs using Pneumatic & Hydraulic Components
- effective communication skills necessary to interact with both customers and peers
- ability to work with Sales & Estimating departments to assist in developing Concept Designs and Plant Layout drawings for RFQ proposals & Sales presentations
- strong abilities in analyzing equipment designs

- Knowledgeable in Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems
- Calculations (i.e., cylinders, valves, switches, etc.)
- Knowledgeable in Applications using Robotics & Vision systems
- Knowledgeable in using Microsoft Software i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Familiarity with aspects of System Controls
- PLCs
- HMI Panels
