Job Summary
Mechanical Design Engineer – on-site in West Memphis, AR. Researches, plans, and designs mechanical, electro-mechanical and pneumatic material handling equipment and systems. Creates and maintains fabrication and assembly drawings. Analyzes data from customer design requests and existing specs to determine feasibility and optimal concepts. Collaborates with production and sales to establish design concepts and present alternatives. Evaluates design ideas based on design-function relationships, serviceability, materials, production costs, and client specifications. Designs material handling equipment according to factory orders and engineering standards; performs CAD layouts (AutoCAD 2D, Inventor 3D preferred); familiar with power transmission components, gears, bearings, pneumatic components. Full-time on-site role at West Memphis, AR facility; office hours 8–5 Mon–Thu, 8–4:30 Fri. Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree or equivalent (BSME preferred)
- Two or more years experience is a related field or the equivalent combination is preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and Inventor 3D is preferred
