Job Summary

Conceptualize, design, and develop hardware for High Speed I/O products, from initial proposals through tooling and qualification. Perform Design FMEA, tolerance analysis, FEA, and risk assessments while ensuring designs meet electrical, mechanical, and environmental requirements. Collaborate with customers and suppliers to define functional performance needs, optimize processes for stamping, plating, molding, and assembly, and lead design reviews. Verify drawings, select materials based on performance and sourcing, and manage first article inspections. Transition products to manufacturing with NPI and mentor global associates.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Proven knowledge & experience in mechanical analysis
  • Proven knowledge & experience with risk assessment, and mitigation in designs
  • Proficiency in the use of CAD software for design and concepting
  • Proficiency in static and dynamic load analysis using FEA tools
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles
  • Experience with Material selection
  • Experience with Statistical Engineering methods
  • Understanding and experience with mechanical & environmental testing
  • Ability to work effectively within a project team
  • Ability to direct the activity of others as needed
