Job Summary
Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for designing flight hardware and prototypes for airframes, owning the product from concept through qualification and production handoff. Develop manufacturable avionics hardware, fluid and structural systems; generate detailed drawings and specifications; lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions; prototype in-house; define qualification plans; ensure designs are manufacturable with DFM feedback; collaborate with customers and manufacturers; travel to vendors as needed; ITAR-restricted role requiring U.S. person status.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in aerospace engineering, manufacturing engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering or engineering physics
- 1+ years of mechanical or fluids design, analysis, or build experience (student project team and internship experience qualifies)
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and solid mechanics
