Job Summary
Mechanical Design Engineer overseeing mechanical design and development for automation solutions at Agilent sites worldwide. Responsibilities include proposing mechanical architecture, component placement, CAD database management, platform standardization, sizing calculations, and BOM preparation for procurement. Lead mechanical design–related tests, characterizations, and reliability assessments; conduct root-cause analysis; ensure designs meet project scope and corporate standards; collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners; participate in implementation and commissioning at global sites; travel to Agilent sites as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant mechanical design experience in a factory automation environment
- Experience in designing automation systems, mechanisms, injection-m molded plastics, part/material/component selection, extrusions, elastomeric parts, sheet-metal parts, metal stampings, interconnects, electro-mechanical parts, and EMI shielding
