Job Summary
Develop Bills of Material, customer and manufacturing drawings, and 3D models for custom equipment solutions in the Food and Dairy industry. Process design and fabrication drawings for tanks and material handling equipment while researching and specifying power transmission methods. Coordinate all project phases from concept and design through manufacturing, commissioning, and closure, ensuring designs are safe, reliable, and cost-efficient. Perform stress, strain, and deflection calculations and solve complex technical problems independently or with colleagues. Optimize designs for manufacturability and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver completed projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent years of related experience
- 3+ years of mechanical design engineering experience
- Ability to think strategically
- Proven track record of successful problem solving and design
- Strong demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask multiple projects
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally with customers, co-workers and outside parties
- Travel up to 5%
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of 3D CAD experience
- Familiarity with USDA and 3A guidelines for sanitary design and fabrication of dairy processing equipment
- Experience using SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation program software
- Experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic power systems
