Job Summary
Mechanical Design Engineer in Traction responsible for mechanical design of converters, energy storage systems and cooling units for railway and heavy on or off-road applications. Converters and cooling units designed for rail vehicles, e-buses, e-trucks, or construction machines, with PLM data management, validation testing (cooling performance, structural strength), production support during introduction of new products, and collaboration with suppliers and customers. Role includes creating technical specifications, contributing to concept development and quotations, and supporting the sales organization. Hybrid work model in Untersiggenthal, Switzerland; requires collaboration in a dynamic, high-performing team and strong CAD/ERP capabilities (Creo, Windchill).
Required Qualifications
- Trained and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with further technical school (TS), or bachelor’s /master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Experience with CAD and ERP systems, ideally Creo and PTC Windchill
- Solid English skills; German is preferred
- Open, collaborative team player with a hands-on and approachable working style
