Job Summary
Hands-on Mechanical Designer/Drafter to spearhead the physical packaging of medical device electronics. Own the mechanical design process from concept to final assembly, creating detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks for high-power supplies, amplifiers, and magnetic components. Package complex electronics, model inductors/transformers, and build/refine prototypes via 3D printing. Support quality/regulatory by maintaining DHF and collaborating within a small product design team. Requires degree in mechanical drafting/design (BSME preferred) and 3+ years of relevant experience, with strong SolidWorks proficiency and background in electronics packaging for medical devices.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Drafting/Design; BSME preferred
- 3+ years of professional mechanical design experience
- Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software
- Background in electronics packaging, especially power electronics
- Experience modeling magnetics (transformers, inductors)
- Familiarity with medical device design controls/regulatory standards (ISO 13485, FDA) is highly preferred
- Experience with 3D printing for rapid prototyping in medical devices
- Familiarity with machine shop tools is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional teamwork
