Job Summary
Sr Mechanical Controls Engineer for data-center focused building automation. Lead automation design teams of complex scope, coordinate with multi-discipline groups, mentor mechanical engineers, and design front-end platforms for HVAC controls. Develop and implement configuration, programming, networking, and diagnostic standards; engineer and implement programming; modify logic to meet sequence of operations/MOPs; design controls for centralized chilled water plants and other critical equipment; review shop drawings and submittals; participate in design reviews; assist in IT/OT interface considerations; document processes and create training materials; maintain ongoing applications with minimal supervision; travel to NYC/LA areas as needed; engage with clients and stakeholders to progress projects.
Required Qualifications
- BA / BS in Engineering or relevant degree
- Licensed PE / EIT / Certifications a Plus
- Data Center Engineering experience with Automation and Controls Experience
- Experience integrating PLC / ALC with complex data center / mission critical facilities
- 5-10 + years with BMS / BCM / BAS Systems
- Experience with Controls products from Johnson Controls / JCI; Siemens; Automated Logic; Honeywell; GE Control Systems; Schneider Electric
- Ability to read and audit one-lines / blueprints / CAD drawings and controls diagrams
- PLC / ALC Programming Experience
- Experience with Controls systems design related to HVAC equipment (Chillers, AHUs, CRAC/CRAH, Boilers)
- Experience with BAS protocols BACnet IP, BACnet MSTP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP
- Client facing experience and primary point of contact on projects
- Independent work capability; self-starter; good prioritization
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Travel: 5-10%
- MS Office Suite proficiency
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
