Mechanical Commissioning Lead - Data Centers

Job Summary
Lead multiple data-center mechanical commissioning projects, acting as the SME to ensure commissioning standards are followed, QC processes are applied, and documentation is thorough. Oversee the technical aspects of commissioning teams, develop SOPs and MOPs, review design criteria and submittals, conduct integrated and functional tests (HVAC, Chillers, CRAC, electrical distribution, UPS, generators, emergency lighting), compile testing results, and produce comprehensive reports with recommendations for optimizing building operations. Interface with clients, contractors, vendors, and owners’ representatives; travel as needed (up to ~70%); collaborate on commissioning plans, plans for large-scale projects, and field troubleshooting using instruments like Power Quality Analyzers and data loggers. Strong emphasis on communication, documentation, and adherence to commissioning standards.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 10+ years experience in Electrical/Mechanical Commissioning
- Bachelor's / Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering a plus
- A/E experience in complex facilities or mission-critical projects
- Previous Data Center / Mission Critical experience required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with heavy documentation and client interaction
- Experience with Level 1-5 commissioning
- Experience managing commissioning teams and developing plans for large-scale projects
- Experience with IEEE / ASHRAE procedures and protocols a plus
- Basic knowledge of systems design for various projects
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project
- Open to 50-70% travel (with closer travel when based near a major Data Center)
- Must live near a major airport
