Mechanical Commissioning Lead - Data Centers

Lead the mechanical commissioning process for data center projects, guiding a team of commissioning engineers and commissioning project managers to ensure adherence to commissioning standards, thorough QC, and comprehensive documentation. Act as a technical SME to resolve commissioning issues across multiple data center sites, coordinating with clients, contractors, vendors, and owners’ agents. Responsibilities include development of SOPs and MOPs, preparation of commissioning plans and test procedures, integration testing (including load bank testing and system-level verification of HVAC, electrical distribution, UPS, generators, fire alarm controls, and other MEP systems), and generation of recommendations to optimize building operations. Requires reviewing design criteria, specifications, drawings, and submittals; performing functional tests; and documenting deficiencies and operation manuals. Travel up to 50-70% (adjustable based on project location), with a preference for candidates living near major airports. Must have prior data center or mission-critical experience and strong communication skills; familiarity with IEEE/ASHRAE procedures is a plus. This is a full-time role within a national engineering-design and commissioning firm supporting enterprise, colocation, and hyperscale clients.
