Job Summary
Lead the mechanical commissioning process for large data center projects, acting as a Commissioning SME to ensure standards, QC processes, and thorough documentation are followed. Oversee multiple commissioning projects, develop SOPs/MOPs, manage test procedures and reports, track deficiencies and equipment operation, and interface with clients, contractors, vendors and owners’ agents. Responsible for field troubleshooting, integration testing (including HVAC, chillers, CRAC units, electrical distribution, UPS, generators, emergency lighting), and production of comprehensive commissioning reports and recommendations. Role requires 5-10+ years in electrical/mechanical commissioning, experience with data centers or mission-critical facilities, strong writing skills, and travel of 50-70% (reduced travel if based near a major data center). Travel-ready near major airports; open to US-based locations across Chesterton, IN and multiple other cities as listed.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 10+ years experience in Electrical / Mechanical Commissioning
- Bachelor's / Associates Degree as an Electrical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer a plus
- A/E experience in complex facilities or mission-critical projects
- Previous Data Center / Mission Critical experience
- Experience with Level 1-5 commissioning
- Experience managing commissioning teams and developing plans for large-scale projects
- Experience with IEEE / ASHRAE procedures and protocols a plus
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills
