Mechanical Commissioning Engineer

Job Summary
Execute onsite commissioning plans for large facility projects and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Methods of Procedures (MOPs). Conduct level 1-5 commissioning, prepare commissioning test procedures and reports, maintain commissioning logs and checklists, and write comprehensive reports with recommendations for optimizing building operations. Review design criteria, specs, drawings, and submittals; develop and administer functional tests for building MEP systems (fire alarm/control, HVAC, chillers, CRAC units); perform integrated system testing and load bank testing; prepare commissioning plans and adhere to QC processes. Lead and coordinate external resources, schedule meetings, and interface with clients, contractors, vendors, and project teams. Field experience with Power Quality Analyzers, Power Disturbance Analyzers, and data loggers is desired. Requires 4-7 years of Mechanical/HVAC experience; PE/EIT a plus; LEED accreditation a plus; BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering a plus; willingness to travel; strong writing and documentation skills for client-facing communications.
Required Qualifications
- 4-7 years experience in Mechanical/HVAC
- Experience commissioning enterprise data centers, colos, and hyperscale companies
- Willingness to travel
- P.E or EIT a plus
- LEED Accreditation a huge plus
- BA /BS as a Mechanical Engineer a plus
- Experience with ASHRAE / ASHRAE TC 9.9 procedures and protocols a plus
- Previous Military / Veterans experience in related fields a plus
- Excellent communication skills (writing and client interaction)
