Job Summary

Mechanical Commissioning Engineer (Data Center) to perform commissioning of mechanical systems including mechanical, plumbing and fire alarm/suppression equipment and related controls in data center environments. Responsibilities include reviewing designs for client goals, preparing execution plans, conducting commissioning from design through occupancy, witnessing factory tests, performing functional testing with test instrumentation, documenting field procedures, reporting performance, coordinating field activities with project teams, reviewing and contributing to commissioning documentation and schedules, submitting daily commissioning reports, assisting in training Associate Project Engineers, and ensuring adherence to safety requirements. Candidate should have a BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of mission-critical project experience or 4+ years in commissioning, experience in mission-critical facilities, and knowledge of ASHRAE/BCxA guidelines; knowledge of test instrumentation and familiarity with BMS/EPMS; PE license or commissioning certification is a plus; travel up to 50-75% and physical ability to perform duties as described.

Required Qualifications

  • BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering with 2 or more years of mission critical project experience, or 4+ years of commissioning experience in mission critical facilities; knowledge of mechanical, plumbing and fire alarm/suppression systems; experience with commissioning, testing and troubleshooting mechanical systems; ability to review project information, execute field activities, maintain documentation, and assist Senior Project Engineer; ability to train Associate Project Engineers; travel 50-75% nationwide; PE license and/or commissioning certification a plus but not required; ASHRAE or BCxA commissioning guidelines knowledge preferred; familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS); strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work in team environment.
