Mechanical Commissioning Associate - Liquid Cooling Systems

Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Commissioning Engineer role focused on liquid cooling systems for mission-critical facilities. Lead Level 1–5 commissioning for data-center environments, including testing, verification, and documentation of liquid cooling, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, and water-cooled systems. Develop and execute commissioning test procedures, SOPs, MOPs, and comprehensive reports; maintain logs and deficiency lists; review design drawings, submittals, and specifications; interface with clients, vendors, contractors, and on-site project stakeholders as the commissioning lead. Apply expertise in water treatment, HVAC systems, and thermal dynamics, with strong technical writing and communication skills; travel to project sites as needed; pursue professional credentials (PE/EIT) and LEED accreditation as applicable. Ensure alignment with ASHRAE standards and industry practices, and contribute to QA/QC and integrated system testing efforts.
Required Qualifications
- 8–13 years of experience in mechanical/HVAC commissioning
- strong emphasis on liquid cooling systems and process piping
- proven commissioning experience in mission-critical industries (data centers, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, or similar)
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- PE or EIT license a strong plus
- LEED Accreditation is a plus
- experience with ASHRAE standards (preferably ASHRAE TC 9.9)
- strong technical writing and communication skills
- familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project)
- willingness to travel to project sites
- experience interfacing with clients, vendors, contractors, and project stakeholders
- on-site commissioning leadership
- development of SOPs and MOPs
- creation of commissioning reports and checklists
