Job Summary
Mechanical Calculation Engineer on a UK on-site project (Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater). You’ll perform mechanical stress and flexibility calculations for electrical systems (e.g., cable trays, supports), produce calculation notes and reports, respond to on-site engineering queries, and collaborate with installation contractors and engineers to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. Requires a degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering, knowledge of EUROCODE/ASME/RCC-M, experience with 2D/3D design and analysis tools (Navisworks, ANSYS, RSTAB, PDMS, PIPESTRESS), and strong English communication. On-site, hybrid arrangement (3 days on-site per week) with salary £45,000-£47,000 per annum. On-site location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, UK.
Required Qualifications
- A degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering
- Knowledge of engineering codes and standards such as EUROCODE, ASME, RCC-M
- Experience using 2D/3D design and analysis tools (e.g. Navisworks, ANSYS, RSTAB, PDMS, PIPESTRESS)
- Experience producing technical documentation and engineering calculation reports
- Strong ability to perform mechanical stress calculations and engineering assessments
- Proven experience working in multidisciplinary or multicultural engineering teams
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal
