Job Summary

The Mechanical Build Engineering role is responsible for owning the build procedures used to develop qualification hardware, iterating on initial builds to ensure highly reliable production-level builds at our factories once product maturity is achieved. You will serve as the extreme owner for the build process of the parts we design, blending hands-on R&D for new build methodologies with close collaboration with the design engineering team to ensure design for manufacturability of new products. Responsibilities include developing build methodology from industry standards, overseeing assembly and manufacturing procedures for new and existing hardware, acting as the extreme owner of DFM changes to part drawings, conducting development campaigns for new manufacturing methods and writing specifications, balancing off-the-shelf vs in-house capabilities, leading various manufacturing methods, ideating tooling, planning capital equipment upgrades, partnering with engineering and production teams for designs, guiding designs from concepts to qualified aerospace components, prototyping components in-house, and traveling to vendors as needed. Basic Qualifications require a Bachelor's or advanced degree in relevant engineering fields and 1+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, design, test, or development; Preferred Skills include GD&T, experience with Python/MATLAB, Siemens NX, DFM, and strong collaboration. Additional ITAR-related requirements apply.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in aerospace engineering, manufacturing engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering or engineering physics
  • 1+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, design, test, or development (internship and project team experience is applicable)
