Job Summary
Assist mechanics in performing moderate to complex maintenance and repair work on machines and components while ensuring required tools are within reach. Obtain and verify parts for specific jobs, then clean and maintain facilities and equipment to keep the workplace safe and orderly. Physically lift, position, or move objects up to twenty kilograms, utilizing appropriate slinging equipment for larger items. Obtain forklift and overhead crane operator certifications within ninety days of appointment. A Matric qualification is required, with a Code B driver's license as an added advantage.
Required Qualifications
- Matric or equivalent
- Drivers licence – Code B
- Ability to follow instructions under supervision
- Physically lift, keep in place and / or move up to twenty kilograms (20kgs) or use appropriate lifting and slinging equipment for objects larger in size
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of tools will be advantage
- Ability to obtain certification as forklift operator within ninety (90) days of appointment
- Ability to obtain certification as overhead / jib crane operator within ninety (90) days of appointment
