Job Summary
Assemble, test, and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to exact specifications using blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. Perform precision measurements with calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions, while identifying and diagnosing mechanical issues to make necessary adjustments. Conduct functional tests on completed assemblies and document results per quality procedures, maintaining a clean workspace and adhering to safety policies and lockout/tagout guidelines. Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to resolve build issues and improve assembly processes. This contract role operates on the 2nd Shift (3:30PM – 2:00AM) with overtime as needed, requiring experience in mechanical assembly and proficiency with hand and power tools.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in mechanical assembly within a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Proficiency using hand and power tools safely and effectively for assembly tasks
- Hands-on experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, components, and connections
- Demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting skills to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, production-focused setting
- Willingness and ability to work 2nd Shift: 3:30PM – 2:00AM, including overtime as needed
- High school diploma or GED required
Desired Qualifications
- Formal technical training, apprenticeship, or vocational certificate in mechanical technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred
- Relevant industry certifications in mechanical assembly, fluid power, or maintenance are an advantage
- Experience in a high-mix, low-volume or custom equipment manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices or continuous improvement initiatives
- Basic understanding of electrical components as they relate to mechanical assemblies
- Previous experience working with ERP or manufacturing documentation systems
