Job Summary

Assemble mechanical and sheet metal products using engineering drawings and sketches for aircraft and ground vehicles, ensuring all work meets quality standards. Review completed assemblies to protect details from damage and perform testing and functional checks. Tear down, evaluate, and repair returned components while resolving assembly and documentation problems by reporting issues to supervisors. Coordinate with repair station inspectors for final inspection and sign-off, and assist in on-the-job training. Maintain a clean and safe working environment with regular scheduled attendance.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three to ten years' related experience (fabrication; aircraft sheet metal / structure repairs)
  • Ability to read and interpret blue print drawings
  • Ability to apply fundamental concepts and knowledge of assembly skills and their application
  • Dependable and self-motivated
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge/experience
  • Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling – up to 5%
  • Subject to applicable laws and Air Method's policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position. All employees must follow Air Methods' employment practices and policies.

Desired Qualifications

  • One year certificate from college or technical school
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment
  • Experience in use of sheet metal related shop equipment
  • FAA Airframe Mechanic Certificate
