Mechanical Assembly Project Leader

Job Summary
Produce and assemble machine parts according to specifications by reading blueprints, shop orders, and other instructions. Operate material handling equipment, overhead cranes, and rigging procedures while fabricating sheet metal and using hand tools such as drill presses and grinders. Measure parts accurately with scales, micrometers, and calipers to ensure precise assembly. Travel to customer sites domestically and internationally to install kits and machinery, overseeing contracted employees during installation and training new staff. Manage material inventory, complete dispatch reports, and lead line audit teams. Perform department clean-up, improvement projects, and facility maintenance upgrades while adhering to all safety protocols and using proper personal protective equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Journeyman Millwright certification, Associates in Electromechanical field, or equivalent years of experience
- Mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and to make metric system conversions
- Previous assembly experience
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and other manufacturing instructions
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically
- Ability to navigate CAD documents
- Familiarity with ERP systems
- Knowledge and ability to use hand tools and machine tools such as drill press, band saw, cut-off saw and grinder
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with others (including in-person) to proactively develop solutions
- Ability to train others

- Knowledge of carpentry and pneumatics
