Job Summary
Assemble pumps, motors, protectors, gas separators, downhole monitoring tools, and surveyor tools according to specifications while interpreting blueprints and schematics. Perform mechanical troubleshooting to identify faults and root causes, then disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment to restore operation. Use specialized tools to torque components to specified tolerances and conduct functional tests to verify performance standards. Maintain accurate records of assembly steps and test results while keeping work areas clean and safe. This contract role supports critical operations in the oil and gas sector, requiring hands-on technical work in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar hands-on mechanical role in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment and assembly issues
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical assembly of complex equipment and multi-component systems
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Hands-on experience using Parmalee wrenches and related mechanical hand and power tools
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and work instructions with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with tight tolerances and precision mechanical components
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to established safety procedures and standards
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet site access requirements, if applicable
Desired Qualifications
- Technical or vocational training in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred
- Relevant mechanical or industrial maintenance certifications beneficial
- Experience with oilfield, downhole, or rotating equipment assemblies
- Familiarity with pressure testing and leak detection procedures
- Basic understanding of measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
- Exposure to continuous improvement practices within a manufacturing or workshop environment
