Job Summary
Mechanical Assembler I performs simple fitting and mechanical assembly of parts and sub-assemblies using hand tools, power tools, or equipment. Operates cranes/hoists or lift tables, conducts basic inspection to ensure product meets specifications and quality standards, and reports defects. Maintains production records, adheres to health and safety guidelines, and protects confidentiality of information. Keeps technical knowledge current through workshops, publications, and professional networks. Contributes to team projects as needed. Requires ability to read tape measure and blueprints, English literacy, and physical capability to lift up to 50 lb and push/pull up to 100 lb; capable of standing, walking, sitting, climbing/balancing, kneeling, bending, crouching, crawling, reaching, and communicating effectively.
