Job Summary

Mechanical Assembler I performs final assembly of doors per the daily production schedule. Uses i-Pad to review requirements and BOM, gathers components, stages and assembles parts, attaches motors, chains, straps or other components per BOM, ensures quality and accuracy, inspects finished assemblies, moves them to staging, and maintains a clean, organized work area while adhering to safety policies. Must read blueprints and work instructions, pull stock, troubleshoot issues, and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail on the 1st shift (5:00 am - 1:30 pm, Monday–Friday). Preferred candidates have some electrical assembly experience and a high school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to work the 1st shift schedule of 5:00 am - 1:30 pm Monday - Friday.
  • Strong mechanical assembly background.
  • Ability to read and interpret reports, work instructions and blueprints.
  • Low tolerance for errors; high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds frequently.
  • Ability to squat, kneel and stand frequently.
  • Ability to prioritize work load and to manage more than one task simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
  • Must be able to read and use standard tape measure as well as other measuring tools.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Some electrical assembly is preferred
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
