Job Summary
The Mechanical Assembler - 2nd Shift is responsible for reading and comprehending instructions, collecting materials and equipment, taking precision measurements, aligning materials, and assembling complex units. The role requires quality checks of outputs and maintenance of equipment, along with keeping records of production. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, ideally supplemented by technical education, and possess three years of mechanical assembly experience. Mechanical inclination, experience with hand and power tools, blueprint reading ability, strong attention to detail, and effective communication skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required
- 3 years’ experience in mechanical assembly desired
- Mechanically inclined with good intuition
- Strong dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination
- Experience with hand tools and basic power tools
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings
- Highly organized and attentive to detail
- Good understanding of quality principles and math
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Degree from technical school highly preferred
- Familiarity with use of measuring instruments
