Job Summary
Mechanical Apprentice – Shop Sheet Metal role in RK Mechanical’s apprenticeship program. Earn while you learn toward a journeyman license while gaining real job-site experience. Responsibilities include installation or assembly of trade-specific material and equipment in the shop, building/setup/operation of equipment, maintaining a clean work area, restocking supplies, participating in the company apprenticeship program, and working as part of a team. Emphasizes safe use of tools and equipment, and collaboration with colleagues and managers. Requires no prior experience and supports development via RK University and the apprenticeship program.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree or GED or equivalent combination of skills and experience preferred but not required
- Aptitude to learn the proper use of equipment, tools, and materials
- Able to receive direct supervision and guidance
- Able to be flexible in work activities, location and hours of work
- Confident communication and ability to handle stressful situations
- General knowledge of trade specific equipment and machinery preferred
- Ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues
- Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools
- Ability to lift, move and/or carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally
