Job Summary
Mechanical Apprentice – Sheet Metal role engaging in a structured apprenticeship program to gain hands-on experience in the sheet metal/mechanical trades. Responsibilities include assisting with installation or assembly of trade-specific material and equipment in shops, buildings, or job-sites; assisting with setup and operation of trade-specific equipment and machinery; maintaining a clean work area and replenishing supplies; actively participating in the company-sponsored apprenticeship program; working as part of a team; using materials and tools safely; and building professional relationships with colleagues, clients, and managers. The program offers training, a clear path for career advancement, and tools provided at no upfront cost, with the aim of earning while learning toward a journeyman license.
Required Qualifications
- Aptitude to learn the proper use of equipment, tools, and materials
- Able to receive direct supervision and guidance
- Able to be flexible in work activities, location and hours of work
- Confident communication and ability to handle stressful situations
- General knowledge of trade specific equipment and machinery preferred
- Ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues
