Job Summary

Perform routine preventive maintenance on transit vehicles and support equipment, including fluid changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, and tire rotations. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues across engines, transmissions, braking systems, HVAC, suspension, and steering. Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and DOT-compliant safety inspections to identify defects and complete repairs in line with regulatory standards. Respond to road calls and in-service breakdowns, troubleshooting issues on-site and coordinating with the Maintenance Manager to minimize service disruption. Use automotive test equipment and diagnostic software to isolate issues and verify repairs. Complete accurate work orders and maintain detailed service records for each vehicle. Keep the shop and work areas clean, organized, and safe. This floor-focused role requires hands-on problem-solving skills and comfort with physical work in varied shop conditions.

Required Qualifications

  • Vocational automotive training
  • hands-on experience in medium/heavy-duty vehicle maintenance
