Job Summary
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks, bulldozers, excavators, and other heavy machinery while conducting regular inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Develop and adhere to a preventative maintenance schedule, manage parts inventory, and ensure all work meets industry safety standards. Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager to prioritize tasks, document repair activities, and respond to emergency repairs to minimize operational downtime. Requires a minimum of three years of experience, a valid driver's license, and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance and repair
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry heavy parts and equipment, typically up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs]
- Capable of standing, bending, kneeling, and crouching for extended periods
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools, with the manual dexterity required for intricate repairs
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including outdoors, in all weather conditions, and in confined spaces
- Must be able to operate and maneuver equipment to perform diagnostics and repairs
- Ability to respond quickly to emergency repair situations, which may require working outside of regular hours
- Upon offer, employees will be required to subject and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background and MVR check
Desired Qualifications
- Technical certification in mechanics or related field
- CDL
