Job Summary
Diagnose and repair gasoline engines, powertrain components, hydraulic brakes, steering, suspension, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems. Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment using scan tools and laptop technology. Follow instructions from shift leaders, work independently or with a team, and help maintain an effective, clean work environment. Ensure you have your own tools to complete all job functions. Schedule includes Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 11:30 PM with occasional Saturdays as needed for full-time roles. Hourly wage ranges from $20.00 to $33.00 plus a $2.00 shift differential, with paid overtime after 40 hours.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Must have own tools or ability to obtain own tools to complete all job functions
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
- Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet
- Work environment involves ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive
- Work environment may involve hazards such as diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other elements associated with vehicle repair
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2 years technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics is preferred
- Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn
