Job Summary
Perform routine and preventive maintenance/repair on all electric, diesel, and gasoline powered trucks and equipment. Work with the shop welder and tire hand to cross-train as necessary to keep trucks and trailers in continuous operation. Keep records of parts and supplies used on equipment and reports to the foreman; notify the foreman when parts, supplies, and equipment are needed. Observe and listen to defective equipment to determine cause of trouble or nature and extent of equipment damage. Inspect trucks, equipment, and machinery to diagnose defects and verify repairs. Mix, utilize, dispense, and/or properly dispose of volatile compounds including fuels, lubricants, and solvents. Keep the work area clean by sweeping and discarding used material properly and storing tools and supplies. Requires two years of related experience, a valid driver's license with a clean MVR, welding and fabricating experience, and an acceptable DOT physical.
Required Qualifications
- Two (2) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Ability to provide own tools
- Welding and fabricating experience
- Acceptable results of a DOT physical
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age, or older
- English language fluency, verbal and written
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test
