Job Summary
Maintain preventative maintenance programs on all gasoline and diesel power equipment, inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical defects including mower grinding, motor overhauls, and braking systems. Purchase repair parts and replacement supplies, reviewing expenses with the department manager for approval while tracking inventories for budget purposes. Perform machining or welding work to create fittings for maintenance equipment and keep a clean, safe maintenance area. Maintain records of all preventative maintenance and repairs made. Incorporate safe work practices throughout job performance and assist in controlling costs related to parts purchases, fuel inventories, and service work. Requires a valid driver's license, mechanics certificate, and ability to read English manuals.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Mechanics Certificate from Gas and Diesel Engine Training Seminar
- Ability to read and speak English
