Job Summary
Maintain a preventative maintenance program on all gasoline and diesel power equipment, inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical defects including mower grinding, motor overhauls, and braking systems. Purchase repair parts and replacement supplies, review expenses with the department manager, and track inventories for budget purposes. Perform machining or welding work to create fittings for repairs and keep the maintenance area clean and safe. Incorporate safe work practices while managing fuel inventories and controlling costs related to the equipment fleet.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Mechanic's Certificate from Gas and Diesel Engine Training Seminar
- Certificate from college or technical school
- three to six months of related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and speak English
