Job Summary
Assembles, tears down, troubleshoots, and reassembles aircraft ground support and aviation equipment in a high-mix, low-volume shop. Works on a bench or shop floor following blueprints/technical drawings. Uses hand and power tools to fasten parts, test procedures, and inspect for quality defects. Reads hydraulic schematics and assembly prints; follows safety rules; able to stand for long periods and lift up to 100 pounds with assistance as needed. Comfortable with fast-paced environments and multi-tasking while ensuring productivity and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Prior mechanic experience with ground support equipment or complex industrial machines preferred
- 1–2 year related experience with hydraulic, electrical and mechanical assemblies
- Read and interpret blueprints, bills of materials, safety rules
- Read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Mechanic, preferably with ground support equipment, or other complex industrial machines
- 1–2-year related experience with hydraulic, electrical and mechanical assemblies
- Read and interpret blueprints, bills of materials, safety rules
- Read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to climb step ladders, work platforms as needed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
