Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic at R+L Carriers Milwaukee Service Center responsible for day-to-day maintenance on fleet equipment, including preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. Duties may include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and welding where location allows. Required skills include experience with diesel engines, AC and electrical systems, ability to lift 50 lbs, and owning the necessary tools. Preferred: 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience, experience with Cummins and Detroit engines, Cetaris work orders, Class A CDL, and trailer PMs/repairs. Required Qualifications
- Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
- Must be able to handle major repairs
- Experience with AC and Electrical
- Have the ability to lift 50lbs
- Must have own tools
- 2+ Years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred
- Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines
- Experience using Cetaris used for work orders
- Class A CDL holder
- Experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks
- Experience in Trailer PMs and repairs
