Job Summary
The Mechanic Technician I position is responsible for ensuring the safe working condition of all company vehicles through unsupervised repairs and maintenance. The role includes diagnosing and addressing mechanical discrepancies, training junior technicians, performing routine repairs and preventative maintenance, and generating daily written work orders. Candidates must possess a high school diploma, a minimum of five years of relevant experience, at least five ASE certifications or an equivalent Hawaii State Mechanic License, and a valid Type 3 License. Familiarity with basic hand tools and shop equipment, as well as the ability to communicate effectively, are essential. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a noisy, potentially hazardous environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of five (5) years of work-related experience as a Mechanic II
- Minimum five (5) ASE certificates
- Current Type 3 License with valid traffic abstract
- Operational knowledge of basic hand tools
Desired Qualifications
- Technical/trade school training preferred
- Familiarity with basic shop equipment such as vise, press, and floor jacks
