Job Summary
Mechanic Tech D (Apprentice) role involving enrollment in a Vehicle Maintenance/Diesel Technician program, with a 25-hour weekly target and a GPA requirement, to develop entry-level understanding of fleet vehicle systems, perform Oil and Lube Services, assist in Preventative Maintenance, and work under a mentor to gain hands-on experience in a maintenance shop while meeting safety, attendance, and competency requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Vehicle Maintenance/Diesel Technician program
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must dedicate at least 2 years (4 semesters) to the Apprentice program
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals
- Basic comprehension and math skills
- Intermediate computer experience
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Possess a valid VA driver’s license
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
- Willingness to work flexible schedule in a 24/7 work environment
- Able to perform physical tasks described in the job
- Must pass established competency test for step progression
- Compliance with safety, attendance, and company policies
- Authorized to work in the United States
