Job Summary
Lead daily workshop operations by organizing workflow, diagnosing and repairing vehicles to thl standards, and deciding between repair and replacement based on inspections. Confirm repairs through test drives and quality checks while ensuring compliance with legal, safety, and brand requirements. Manage team recruitment, rostering, and performance, training mechanics to resolve operational challenges and champion health and safety practices across the workshop. Utilize Microsoft Asset Manager to track workflows, parts, and labour. This hands-on leadership role supports a team of mechanics in Queenstown, driving productivity and exceeding customer expectations within a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.
Required Qualifications
- A recognised New Zealand trade qualification (Light or Heavy Automotive Engineering Level 4 or international equivalent)
- At least a restricted driver's licence
- Previous team leader or supervisory experience in busy workshop environments
- Commitment to health & safety standards and compliance
- Reliable under pressure
- Excellent communication skills
- Organisational skills

- 3 to 5 years of automotive industry experience
