Job Summary
Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems while implementing and maintaining the plant electrical/power/I&C Preventative Maintenance Program. Create and maintain mechanical procedures, specifications, manuals, and documentation to support plant projects and long-term solutions for recurring issues. Promote safety requirements, manage housekeeping expectations, and supervise short-term contractors and service work. Perform daily tasks under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, responding to occasional off-hours callouts. Requires two years of production plant experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and availability for shift schedules including nights, holidays, and weekends. Located in Barnwell, SC.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of experience in production plant equipment maintenance and repairs
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read/interpret schematics, blueprints, instruction manuals, OEM drawings and plant diagrams
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to mentor team members
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Availability to work shift schedules, overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends, plus respond to occasional off-hours callouts to ensure plant reliability of operations
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be comfortable with numbers and basic mathematic calculations
- Must be able to complete daily tasks under little to no supervision
- Should have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

- Employee will be required to perform climbing stairs, walking, squatting, kneeling, or driving lift truck duties at variable frequency
- There is occasional lifting that may require handling of components which can weigh up to 50 lbs
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts in high, precarious places
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, temperature extremes, combustible dust fumes or airborne particles, traffic, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to electrical systems and equipment/components
- Personal computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs
- Two-year degree in mechanical or electrical technology preferred
- Basic Computer skills to be able to use programs for work order and parts management
- Team player who collaborates well with other company employees and associates
- Problem solver who is resilient and reliable
- Most, if not all, communication verbally and written is preferred in English
