Job Summary
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems using advanced diagnostic tools. Repair and rebuild defective components, including engines, transmissions, differentials, and electrical systems, while fabricating metal parts as needed. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and inspections, and maintain accurate records of all work performed. Operate a service truck when required and ensure safety standards comply with OSHA policies. Maintain company tools and machinery to ensure proper use. Work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, lifting up to 40 lbs and performing tasks that involve climbing, bending, and crawling. Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a Swank Driver File are required. Class 7 Inspection License or Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in equipment/vehicle maintenance and mechanical repair
- Hands‐on mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, or technical diagrams
- Basic hand tools up to 1⁄2" drive
- Ability to read and understand Service Manuals
- Ability to use or learn to use diagnostic software
- Competence with computers, including email and Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Swank Driver File, including a PennDOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, MVR check, and background check
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer or mobile device for extended periods
- Ability to regularly lift, push, pull, and carry at least 40 lbs
- Ability to climb, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, and crawl for extended periods
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to work in environments with noise, heat, cold, dust, fumes, and other typical shop or field conditions
- Ability to travel independently to company meetings or vendor locations when needed
Desired Qualifications
- Additional technical training in mechanics, equipment maintenance, or related fields
- Class 7 Inspection License
- Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement
- Knowledge of Welding and Fabrication
- Ability to operate and work on various different types of equipment and trucks
