Job Summary
Journeyman Mechanic Specialist needed at Xcel Energy's Mechanical Maintenance team in Glenwood Springs, CO to perform mechanical maintenance at a hydro generating station, including disassembly, inspection, repair and reassembly, and alignment of industrial turbines, generators, compressors, multistage pumps, motors, heavy rotating equipment, piping, vehicles, forklifts, and snow removal equipment. Must use precision analog hand measuring tools and perform analog and laser alignment tasks, along with other technical support on rotating/mechanical systems. Requires completion of a Millwright Apprentice program or 5+ years of related experience; ability to wear negative air respirator or PAPR; lift 50 lbs; work in hot/cold, dusty/noisy, low-light environments; ability to work from ladders/high elevations or in confined spaces; valid driver's license; certified welder preferred; travel up to 25% possible.

- Millwright Apprentice program completed, or 5+ years in heavy industrial mechanical maintenance, or documented related mechanical training
