Job Summary
Mechanic Shop Helper: supports daily operation of the equipment shop by assisting with diagnosing and repairing small engines and outdoor power equipment, performing routine and preventative maintenance, testing equipment, and maintaining an organized workspace. Collaborates with mechanics and team members, helps manage tool/parts inventory, completes repair documentation (work orders, parts usage, time tracking), assists with equipment/tool delivery, and upholds safety policies. Requires a high school diploma or GED, entry-level mechanical aptitude, valid drivers license, basic computer skills, and certification training in forklift, aerial lift, and rigging/signaling.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Entry-level position; mechanical aptitude preferred
- Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office 365 preferred)
- Ability to obtain forklift certification
- Aerial lift certification
- Rigging and signaling certification
