Job Summary
Operate service trucks to provide on-site and roadside repairs while diagnosing and fixing engine, electrical, hydraulic, and chassis malfunctions. Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes and battery checks, and execute DOT FMCSA annual inspections. Utilize hand, precision, and power tools to adjust, repair, and document all findings on Repair Orders. Adapt quickly to sudden schedule changes and work with a high degree of independence while maintaining compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Obtain a DOT Medical Card and maintain a clean driving record.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to operate a service truck
- Must be able to provide on-site and roadside repairs
- Must be able to work on site/in shop as needed
- Must be able to come up with quick solutions to keep equipment productive
- Must be able to adapt and make changes quickly
- Must be familiar with diesel engines, all makes
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card
- Must be able to lift heavy objects to perform daily tasks
- Must be qualified to perform DOT FMCSA annual inspections
- Must be able to perform engine, electrical, hydraulic, and chassis repairs on wide variety of equipment
- Must be able to perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment
- Must be able to diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Power steering systems, Engines (diesel), Transmissions (manual), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
- Must be able to inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions
- Must be able to use basic hand tools, precision instruments, as well as power tools, welding equipment
- Must be able to document and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and all findings observed on Repair Orders
- Must be able to work with a high degree of independence
- Must be able to maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most standard repair times
- Must be able to communicate with management and support team
- Must be able to perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT
- Must be able to participate and complete all-in company required safety training

- Hydraulic experience is a plus
