Job Summary
Perform rebuilds, repairs, and inspections of Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) systems and related components for DART’s Fleet Services Division. Responsibilities include overhaul and servicing of propulsion, brakes, trucks, doors, pantographs, HVAC, electrical systems, and related subsystems; tear down and overhaul of components; adherence to safety, quality assurance, and training programs; maintain a clean work area; demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, and customer-service skills; ability to work variable shifts and travel between multiple facility locations; required to hold an Associate degree or technical certification, pass a technical test, and obtain/state/federal certifications; valid Class C driver's license with acceptable driving record; ability to read technical manuals and operate standard PC software; physical capability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in potentially challenging environments.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or certification from an accredited program in electrical, electronic or related field; must pass a technical test; valid Driver's License class C; ability to pass medical exam and safety drug testing; must obtain and maintain certifications as required by state/federal regs; strong PC skills; ability to read technical manuals; ability to work variable shifts; travel to multiple work locations; ability to lift up to 70 pounds; experience in rail/bus equipment maintenance (LRV systems)
