Job Summary
Currently seeking a Mechanic for the Public Works Department responsible for maintenance and repair of vehicles, heavy equipment, small engines, and related machinery. Duties include performing preventive maintenance, conducting repairs on computerized vehicle components, and ensuring proper inventory control of mechanic shop supplies. Mechanic will also perform engine overhauls, hydraulic system repairs, and maintain various automotive systems. Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED, relevant mechanic training, and experience, and must hold a valid Texas Class C driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Training as a mechanic
- At least two years of experience in automotive or heavy equipment repair
- Valid Texas driver’s license Class C
