Job Summary
Mechanic - Pilot Plant role responsible for preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance of pilot plant equipment to support formulation, scale-up, and validation activities. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment used in formulation, processing, and packaging development; assist with installation, qualification, and validation of pilot-scale and development equipment; perform preventive maintenance and ensure timely completion of work orders and documentation; train operators on equipment setup and maintenance practices; work cross-functionally with Development, Manufacturing, and Quality teams; identify equipment performance issues and implement corrective and continuous improvement solutions; and maintain expertise on equipment such as mixers, fillers, and tablet presses. Requires experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of pharmaceutical or pilot plant equipment, GMP/SOP proficiency, ability to diagnose and repair mechanical equipment, familiarity with equipment design and automation, and strong communication/documentation skills. Education required: high school diploma or technical training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or technical school training
- Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of pharmaceutical or pilot plant equipment
- Strong understanding of GMP and SOP requirements
- Proficiency in computer systems (e.g., Office, SAP, maintenance systems)
- Understanding of automation and control systems used in pharmaceutical equipment
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical equipment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Good communication and documentation skills
