Job Summary
Mechanic role focused on servicing and repairing customer items brought to the store. Responsibilities include sourcing and ordering parts, diagnosing and repairing small engines/equipment, maintaining knowledge of Northern Tool + Equipment's brands, and completing required reports. The position requires strong customer-facing skills, safety awareness, and the ability to explain diagnoses and repairs to customers. Qualifications include 1+ years' experience with small engines, certifications from major brands (Honda, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, etc.), and knowledge of electrical systems and hydraulic/pump theory. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM. The role emphasizes a positive team environment, integrity, organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; Spanish language skills are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience repairing and maintaining small engines
- Certifications in major manufacture brands like Honda, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, etc.
- Master certification is a plus!
- Strong knowledge of small engine theory (2 and 4 stroke): lubrication, cooling, ignition and fuel systems
- Extensive experience with electrical systems, plunger driven or axial pressure washer pumps and unloader systems, hydraulic theory, and diagnostic equipment
